Rules

No Buy-In: The game is completely free for patrons to join. Just scan the event QR code and sign up — registration opens 60 minutes before kickoff.

Participation Requirement: You must remain present at the event for the entire game in order to claim prizes.

How It Works

The Football Squares game is a simple and fun way to add excitement to the big game. Here’s exactly how our system works:

  • We can host anywhere from 2 to 100 players. Each player signs up by scanning the QR code and confirming their entry.
  • Once signups close (at kickoff), the system automatically randomizes square assignments. Each participant is randomly assigned squares on the 10x10 board. The process is fair and impartial — you do not choose your own numbers.
  • After signups close at kickoff (whether the board is full or not), the system randomly assigns numbers 0–9 across the top (visiting team last-digit) and down the side (home team last-digit) of the 10×10 board.
  • The last digit of each team’s score at the end of each quarter determines the winning square. For example, if the score is Home 17 – Away 13 at the end of the 1st quarter, the winning square is where Home = 7 and Away = 3.

Randomization & Fairness

  • Players do not pick numbers. Squares are assigned at random to all registered players right at kickoff.
  • The 0–9 header numbers for each axis are independently randomized at kickoff so every last-digit combination is possible.
  • Our system ensures each participant gets an even share of squares (or as even as mathematically possible when the player count doesn’t divide evenly).
  • If a late cancellation happens before kickoff, assignments are re-balanced automatically.

Claiming Prizes

At the end of each quarter, our staff will announce the winning square and check for the registered player.

  • You must be present at the event to claim your prize.
  • Winners will be verified against the signup list.
  • If a winner is not present when announced, the prize may be forfeited or rolled into the next quarter (per host’s discretion).

Example

If the score at halftime is Home 20 – Away 13, the winning square is Home = 0 and Away = 3. Whoever has that square wins the 2nd Quarter prize.
